Midtown Member Club Etiquette

We pride ourselves on offering a community environment for all our members and associates. In order to serve our entire Midtown community, we ask everyone to abide by our code of conduct.

At Midtown we inspire people to transform their lives. We are proud to offer resort-like environments, personal attention, and active communities. We hire our team, make decisions, and operate our business based on our core values: Win Together, Glass Half Full, Passionate about Helping Others, Better than Yesterday, and Kind.   

While you may have come to Midtown to meet a fitness goal, we pride ourselves on offering a community environment for all our members and associates. In order to serve our entire Midtown community, we ask everyone to abide by our code of conduct. 

 

Arrival 

Your time at our Club begins in the parking lot. Please use caution, yield to pedestrians, utilize only one parking space, and keep your vehicle between the lines. Handicapped parking spaces will be monitored and cars without placards will be ticketed. We are not responsible for damage to vehicles, or for lost or stolen items. Leave your valuables at home. 

Always bring your Club credential to enter our space. We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone without their Club-issued credential. If you’ve forgotten or lost your Club credential, please visit our Front Desk where you can receive a new one for the prevailing fee. Your membership credential is for you alone and is not to be used by anyone else. Misuse could result in cancellation of your membership.  

 

At the Club 

We expect you to act in a kind and respectful manner to fellow members, guests, and our Club associates, as deemed by the Club management. Inappropriate behavior may result in suspension or loss of Club Membership. 

Smoking, vaping, and the use of illegal drugs of any kind are strictly prohibited. 

Store your items in the locker room or, where applicable, a cubby during your workout. Keep fitness areas uncluttered. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items. Leave your valuables at home.  

Towels are provided as a member convenience. We appreciate your eco-consciousness. Used towel bins are conveniently placed throughout the Club. 

No outside food or alcohol permitted.

Firearms are strictly prohibited.  

 

Cell Phone Policy 

Be courteous, speak softly.  

Midtown restricts the use of cell phones and cameras in the following areas: spa treatment rooms, sauna, steam room, and Kidtown. Cell phone usage in the locker rooms is limited to texting and emailing; no photos, videos, or video calls allowed. 

Please do not use any video chat applications while on the Fitness Floors or in any of our fitness studios.  

Use of speakerphones or playing of personal music without headphones is prohibited. Use of any professional photography or filming equipment is prohibited, including lighting equipment, tripods, and microphones, unless prearranged and approved by the Club General Manager. You will be asked to remove your device if it is placed in an area that would cause disruption to anyone’s visit.   

We ask that you be respectful to other members, guests, and Club associates, and not intentionally film anyone without their permission. You may be asked to remove any photos or videos posted online that include another member, guest, or Club associate if they complain.   

You may take photos or videos on your personal device in public areas of the club for your personal use only.   

 

Children 

Children 15 years and younger cannot be in the Club without a parent on site, unless they are attending a supervised program. Youth 13 years and younger not participating in a supervised program must be with a parent at all times; please refer to our Youth Area Code and Varsity Certification program for more information. 

Parents and guardians are responsible for managing appropriate behavior of your children. Members and guests will be approached if behavior is deemed inappropriate. 

 

Fitness Floor: Weights 

This is a shared space in our community. Please refer to our Cell Phone Policy. Limit your time on any piece of equipment to one set and allow others to “work in”. Members may not reserve or “claim” any equipment you’re not actively using. Out of courtesy and safety to other members, please re-rack your weights. Wipe down equipment after use. Food is not permitted. Shirts and shoes required. Do not use strength equipment as a seat as you wait for other equipment. 

A Coach on Duty regularly monitors this space and reminds members of our Club etiquette.   

Please report any malfunctioning equipment to a Midtown associate.   

Midtown offers personal trainers to members. Use of personal trainers who are not employed by the Club is strictly prohibited, regardless of whether you paid for those training services.  

Youth aged 12-15 are allowed to use our weight equipment compliant with our Varsity Certification Program; youth of all ages can utilize equipment when with a Club personal trainer.  

 

Fitness Floor: Cardio 

This is a shared space in our community. Please refer to our Cell Phone Policy. Please be mindful if others are waiting for a machine.  

Food is prohibited. Appropriate attire and footwear required. Wipe down equipment after use.  

Youth ages 12-15 are allowed to use our cardio equipment compliant with our Varsity  Certification Program; youth of all ages can utilize equipment when with a Club personal trainer.  

 

Locker Rooms 

Lockers are provided for your convenience and may be used while you are present at the Club. The Club is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Leave your valuables at home. Items left in lockers overnight will be removed. Some Clubs provide locker rentals; you are subject to the terms in your rental agreement. 

Please use discretion in your locker room behavior; err on the side of modesty. Keep voices low. 

Locker room amenities are provided for your convenience. You are welcome to bring your own products if you prefer.  

When departing, please wipe down any countertop space you used, place your towels in the towel bins, and close your locker for the next member to use. 

Cell phone usage in the locker rooms should be limited to text or emailing. Taking photos, videos, or utilizing any kind of video chat application is prohibited. If you need to receive a phone call, please go to the nearest lounge or shared community space.  

 

Sauna / Steam Room 

No gym/athleticwear or street apparel allowed. No shoes. Absolutely no shaving or personal grooming of any kind. No pouring water on the heating elements or drying clothes in the sauna. 

Cell phones prohibited. 

Please allow space for others to join. 

 

Hot Tubs

No shoes allowed in hot tubs. Shower before entering. Food and drinks are not permitted. Age restrictions apply; please refer to your Club’s Youth Area Code. When hot tubs are in public spaces, swim apparel is required.

 

Racquet Sports Courts


Check in at the front desk to obtain your court assignment. Please use your assigned court only. Register all members who will be on court. Wait outside the court until your reservation begins.

Please wear appropriate footwear: smooth soled tennis shoes for clay and non-marking sole for hard court. Appropriate attire required. If you are in need of a racquet, demo racquets are available; please contact the Club in advance to reserve one.

Arrive on time for your reservation and allow time to remove personal items before your reservation ends. As a courtesy to fellow members, pause before walking past a court while play is in progress and keep voices low. If a court is empty, please check in with the front/tennis desk before using it.

Only Midtown associates are allowed to give on-court lessons and use ball baskets. Courts are frequently used for cardio tennis classes where music is played. Only Midtown associates are allowed to broadcast music on our courts.

Profane language and unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated. Food, coolers, alcohol, and intoxicants are prohibited. No smoking or pets (except service animals) allowed on any Midtown property. At the end of your reservation, please remove all your belongings, deposit towels in the appropriate bins, and dispose of trash properly.

The Café / Chromium

Seating areas in our restaurants are reserved for restaurant patrons while the restaurant is open. If you are not actively consuming food or beverages as a restaurant patron, please move to another space so we are able to serve fellow Members and guests.

 

Midtown Fitness Studios

Midtown is proud to offer a wide array of fitness studios. Each has its own personality and function. To benefit all Members, please:

  • keep your belongings in a locker during class
  • arrive early
  • don't save space for Members or guests who are not physically present
  • wait for the previous class to exit the space before you enter
  • do not use Midtown audio equipment if you’re working out in a studio on your own
  • use personal listening devices

Samadhi

Please remove your shoes before entering; cubbies are available for your use. Silence your cell phone. Consider everyone’s yoga practice is personal to themselves; we invite newcomers and want everyone to feel a part of our community.

 

Pilates

Please remove your shoes before entering; cubbies are available for your use. Silence your cell phone. Please do not enter group classes more than five minutes after class has started. To use our Reformer equipment, you must be accompanied by a Pilates coach or participating in a group class.

 

The Field

This is a shared space in our community; please use only the space you need while allowing others to do the same. Group exercise classes are held here regularly; our group exercise classes build our Midtown community and take precedence over individual workouts. EverybodyFights®

Our boxing studios may include bags, rings, and other boxing apparatus. Bring your own gloves or borrow a pair from us; wraps are recommended. Group exercise classes are often held in EverybodyFights®; our group exercise classes build our Midtown community and take precedence over individual workouts. Kindly wipe down equipment after use; report any malfunctioning equipment to the Coach on Duty. Please refer to our Cell Phone Policy.

 

Arena

Group exercise classes are often held in Arena; you may use the equipment at times when classes are not in session. Please wipe down equipment after use. Kindly report any malfunctioning equipment to the Coach on Duty. Please refer to our Cell Phone Policy.

 

Ride

Group exercise classes are often held in Ride; you may use the bikes in Ride at times when classes are not in session. Please wipe down equipment after use. Kindly report any malfunctioning equipment to the Coach on Duty. Please refer to our Cell Phone Policy.

 

Golf Simulator

Arrive on time for your reservation and allow time to clean up before your reservation ends. Simulators must be reserved before using by accessing your member portal, contacting your club, or at the front desk. You may bring your own clubs or demo clubs are available upon request. Food and drink are permitted and can be ordered in Chromium prior to or during your round. Groups are limited to no more than four players. Please refer to our Cell Phone Policy.

 

Kidtown

In order to keep everyone healthy, please keep sick children at home. Kidtown availability and terms vary by Club; Members and Guests, where applicable, will abide by each Club’s Kidtown Member and Guest policies. Cell phones are strictly prohibited.
